She published her first novel in 1970and her most famous novel, Beloved, in 1987. She has been awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature.
This paper will examine, by means of a close textual analysis, the dominant role that the traumatic past plays in the present. I will explore the traumatic & haunting nature of the past by investigating the question of who or what are the subjects and objects of the traumatic haunting. I want to discover what consequences the traumatic haunting has for the protagonists’ lives and how the characters deal with, deny or suppress the past. In order to analyse the novel’s general attitude towards the past, it will be important to find out how the characters escape the haunting, if at all.
Before venturing into a discussion of the manifestations of traumatic haunting, I will conduct a preliminary investigation into the notion of the past and memory as represented in the novel, in order to embed the specific analyses into a general contexthttps://buijhs.journals.ekb.eg/article_88572_cb51c6e1bdb88275f8f12e701245b9de.pdfBeni-Suef UniversityBeni-Suef University International Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences2314-88022120200601Forensic Linguistics: A Study in Criminal Speech Acts39659133310.21608/buijhs.2020.91333ENJihan Hassan MohammedAliLecturer of Al-Alsun University, Beni Suef University, EgyptJournal Article20200522This paper presents Forensic Linguistics (FL) as a relatively new field if it is compared to phonetics, syntax and other branches of linguistics. It is the interface between linguistics and law. It is an interdisciplinary field as it depends upon other fields like semantics, pragmatics, discourse analysis, critical discourse analysis, stylistics and phonology. The paper also proposes its history, development, importance and applications. Forensic linguistics is related to language crimes namely the crimes that are committed by means of language like bribery, perjury, conspiracy, solicitation, plagiarism and threatening. Finally, the conclusions are introduced, i.e. the cooperation between linguists and lawyers. Forensic linguistics, as a promising field, should be regarded and taught to university students and those who work in legal proceedings due to its high importance. Forensic linguistics has significant contributions to the legal context and field.https://buijhs.journals.ekb.eg/article_91333_68caa3c4717b98d558df424438a0e015.pdfBeni-Suef UniversityBeni-Suef University International Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences2314-88022120200601Manifestations of Racial Discrimination as Shown in selected Poems by Maya Angelou67928884410.21608/buijhs.2020.88844ENHanaa Khalifa MohamedEidTeaching Assistant in English Literature, Beni-Suef University , EgyptMohamed MohamedEnaniProfessor of English Literature, Cairo University, EgyptShaymaa SayedAbdel AattyLecturer in English Literature, Beni-Suef University , EgyptJournal Article20200513This research aims to highlight the unique existence of black women as they go on their daily lives in a land in which tyranny over women is still evident. Maya Angelou is a poet who presents the existence of being black, poor, and female. She speaks in a voice for oppressed African-American women and men as she says, that she: “writes for anyone in a cage”. Her political works are characterized by a spirit of survival and success, and she presents it with such eloquent singing. A close reading of Angelou’s poetry reveals themes grounded in racism, sexism, and class distinction. This study aims at reading the poetry of Angelou as a resistance to the racist and sexist prejudices that affected the African community.https://buijhs.journals.ekb.eg/article_88844_0d17dd0e8fe7d17ee3ece7ccffbc5471.pdfBeni-Suef UniversityBeni-Suef University International Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences2314-88022120200601Las nuevas tendencias en el teatro español a finales del siglo XX931588859910.21608/buijhs.2020.88599ENAhmedHashadaliGerman Department, Faculty of Al-Alsun - Beni-Suef University, EgyptJournal Article20200512New Trends of the Spanish Theater at the End of the Twentieth Century
The current research starts with explaining the importance of the topic being addressed, as well as a discussion of the problems that will result from handling this topic while studying and analyzing the new trends of the Spanish theatre in the twentieth century. Thus, the present research illustrates the aim of this study at the beginning. Then, it attempts to explore the motives of the scientific approach of induction or the projection on the new trends. Hence, the research clarifies the features of the new trends. However, this study focuses mainly on a new presentation of this topic that deals with a systematic sequential analysis of the new trends of the contemporary Spanish theatre in recent times.
In order to achieve the aim of this study, it was necessary to apply a methodological criterion which differs from the traditional descriptive methods and it is built on visions consistent with "the theory of social mediation" and "motives for authorship". In this context, it was also essential to address two problems inherent in the issue of trends:
The first problem lies in the classification of trends while the second one is related to assigning the selected works chosen for this study. Though at the end, we find that we have developed a brief model that combines between two main topics namely; the periods of time and the theatrical movements as follows:

The first topic analyzed the tends of theatre in the post-war period or the final years of Franco's rule, where innovative and invisible, opposing or reactionary, real or imaginative theatrical patterns appeared that paved the way for the emergence of new theatrical trends or modern dramatic techniques in the last third of the twentieth century.
The second topic highlighted the theatrical trends that developed the experimental theatrical work by using modern realistic themes that attracted the attention of the Spanish society beginning in the eighties and early nineties where a positive shift took place towards the search for new theatrical patterns that led to the emergence of the period of "the post-transitional stage" in Spain- new theatrical trends that are called "postmodernism" or so-called "post-merging the text with the theatrical performance", which were characterized in their entirety by pluralism. These works were presented by incorporating the new modern methods such as the audiovisual methods that did not stop their constant search for providing theatre with new theatrical alternatives, whether they are themes or other alternatives, which in turn contributed to facing the new challenges that faced and are still facing the Spanish society.
The present study resulted in several conclusions that are not only limited to the results that were reached through applying the mechanisms of analysis to the new trends according to the plan of the study that outlined two main issues, but the study also provided some recommendations for further studies that will be conducted on the same topic in the future. Finally, the study illustrated the specialized sources and references that are related to the subject of the study.https://buijhs.journals.ekb.eg/article_88599_24e9dfe340262f0aa5825575ada0f057.pdfBeni-Suef UniversityBeni-Suef University International Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences2314-88022120200601Gebärdensprache als natürlich entstandene Sprache (Linguistische Aspekte)1591808884510.21608/buijhs.2020.88845ENAshraf SamirMohamedGerman Department, Faculty of Al-Alsun - Beni-Suef University, EgyptJournal Article20200513Die Gebärdensprache ist nicht etwa nur eine hilfsweise Kommunikation, sondern sie ist ein kultureller Wert an sich – ein Wert der Gehörlosenkultur, die wiederum Teil unseres gemeinschaftlichen Zusammenlebens ist. These prefixes offer more meanings and uses such as opposition, contradiction, contrariety and deprivation.
On the other hand, it reviews different methods that researchers used to express the meanings and uses of these prefixes into Arabic. In the forefront of the modern era, the Arabs contacted the Europeans in various fields, so that the Arabic lexicon became responsive and in line with the requirements of the modern era, either by borrowing words or by borrowing meanings of words, or by finding ways to express the meanings and uses of these prefixes.
Finally, we will try to shed light on this issue, clarify it and draw some conclusions, on the basis of a concurrent study, with selected examples from the contemporary Arabic language, and based on bilingual dictionaries as well.https://buijhs.journals.ekb.eg/article_88850_d9d8178cbfa2311999d2ef273b737c0f.pdfBeni-Suef UniversityBeni-Suef University International Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences2314-88022120200601Las implicaciones sociales de la (des)cortesía en el lenguaje narrativo de los autores del premio Nobel2012478885110.21608/buijhs.2020.88851ENManar AhmedElhalwanySpanish departament, Higher Institut of Language. 6 of octuberJournal Article20200513Talking on the Nile of Naguib Mahfuz and Conversation in the Cathedral of Mario Vargas Llosa Contrastive pragma-linguistic analysis
In this paper, a contrastive analysis is presented at a pragmatic linguistic level of narrative language in two novels: Talking on the Nile of the Egyptian Nobel writer Naguib Mahfuz and Conversation of the Cathedral of the Peruvian novelist Mario Vargas Llosa. The analysis focuses on the remarkable intuitive agreement between these two Nobel authors in deviating from the Geoffery Leech Politeness Principle.
In both novels it is clear the use of linguistic formulas that violates the pragmatic politeness in order to achieve a deep and thorough social criticism of the Egyptian and Peruvian reality in the time of the fifties and sixties. Through the violation of the pragmatic principle, both Nobel authors, the objective of this study, seek to expose a greater ailment that affects both Egyptian and Peruvian society, an impoliteness towards citizens belonging to various sectors and social classes.

In the two novels analyzed, the novelists found in the transgression of the Principle of Courtesy the best way to present the concerns and constant conflicts of the human being against his own society. Likewise, both Mahfuz and Llosa, expose the mentalities that support the stratification of society, with their respective prejudices, beliefs and ideologies.https://buijhs.journals.ekb.eg/article_88851_f62c8918953cbbfd36044d8b8b85f402.pdf
